Private Sessions

Hypnosis is an incredibly effective and completely natural way to modify behavior, change habits, and vanquish fears and phobias.  This can be done in group sessions or private sessions.  There are advantages to both.  The following issues are frequently addressed by private session:

In my home office I maintain a ‘business casual’ atmosphere.  Clients should dress comfortably so they can feel relaxed and enjoy the full benefit of the hypnosis experience.

New clients are greeted by me and we spend the first part of the session getting to know a little bit about each other to best tailor the rest of the session to the client’s individual needs.  This part of the session includes filling out a brief form, talking about the reason for the client’s visit and an explanation of how hypnosis works.  This is an excellent time to ask any questions about the process.

When the client feels comfortable, hypnosis is induced and I give suggestions to the client regarding the client’s goals.  After hypnosis the client and I discuss the session and what follow-up should occur.

Typically I charge on a “per session” basis.  Payment will be requested and is expected at the end of each session.  Packages for weight loss or any other multiple session plans are available.

 An initial session will last up to ninety minutes; follow-up sessions usually run about an hour.

Stop Smoking

Smoking nicotine products is both a behavioral habit and a physical addiction.  Fortunately hypnosis is perfectly suited to addressing both issues.  Hypnosis will allow the new ‘non-smoker’ to forget all the habitual triggers that lead to lighting up.  In addition hypnosis will effectively numb any withdrawal pain associated with stopping the use of nicotine.  Hypnosis is cheaper than any of the over-the-counter solutions and has none of the side effects.  Almost all clients stop smoking after one session, regardless of how much or how long they have smoked.

Lose Weight

Hypnosis does not magically melt away pounds.  Long term weight goals are reached by modifying diet and exercise over time. Hypnosis provides the positive motivation to reach individual nutritional and exercise goals.  In February 2004 I studied with Thomas Nicoli, PhD., CH, who was featured on NBC’s ‘Dateline’ program, and I use Dr. Nicoli’s techniques in my practice.

Unlike smoking, you can’t stop eating.  An effective weight loss program requires 3-4 private sessions as well as 3-4 group sessions to make permanent behavior changes. 

Manage Stress

We all have to deal with stress and anxiety on a daily basis.  There are times in our lives when circumstances beyond our control seem to rule our lives.  Hypnosis can help focus our attention on our priorities and regain control over our destiny.

Frequently this can be accomplished in only one or two sessions.

Improve Performance

Hypnosis has proven very effective at helping students, sales people, athletes and many others improve specific performance by getting “in the zone.”  The number of sessions required depends on the individual’s specific goals.

Overcome Fears and Phobias

Fear is an important response to danger that is an essential survival skill.  However many people are paralyzed by irrational fears that prevent them from doing things that they want to do.  Some examples are fear of public speaking, fear of flying, fear of spiders or snakes or bees.  Almost all irrational fears can be overcome in a single session.

Change any manner of habitual behavior

People are creatures of habit.  Have you ever changed the drawers in which you put things in your kitchen?  And find yourself months later going back to the old drawer to get something?  It’s habit.  There are all sorts of habits we acquire over a life time, such as nail biting, hair twirling, stuttering and bed-wetting.  Hypnosis is a safe and easy way to change these habits.  Usually it only takes one session to change a habit.
